1. Who we are
This website, folaadeleke.com, is operated by Fola Adeleke® (“we”, “us”, “the studio”). We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

Note on our online shop. Purchases are not made on this website. Prints and products are sold through our Shopify store at shop.folaadeleke.com, which has its own checkout, payment processing and privacy notice. This policy covers folaadeleke.com only.
2. What we collect and why
We collect only what we need to run the site and respond to you. In practice that is:

We do not ask for special category data, we do not run advertising or profiling on this site, and we do not make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
The site sets no cookies until you make a choice. Google Analytics is loaded with consent defaulting to denied, so no analytics cookie is written unless you press “Accept” on the banner.

Strictly necessary storage. We store your cookie choice itself
(
fa_consent) in your browser's local storage, so we do not have to ask on every page. This is exempt from the consent requirement because it exists solely to record your preference. -
Analytics cookies (optional). Google Analytics 4 sets
_gaand_ga_<id>to distinguish visitors. These expire after two years. They are only set once you accept. - Embedded content. Some pages embed a Spotify player and a Beehiiv newsletter form. These load from third-party domains and may set their own cookies once you interact with them. Their own privacy notices apply.
You can change your mind at any time: . Declining analytics does not affect any other part of the site.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We use the following processors and services to run the site:

Where a provider is outside the UK, transfers are made under the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an adequacy decision, as applicable.
We may also disclose personal data where we are required to by law, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
5. How long we keep it
- Enquiries: kept for up to 24 months after our last contact, then deleted, unless the enquiry becomes an order or commission — in which case we keep the records we need for tax and accounting purposes (currently six years).
- Newsletter: kept until you unsubscribe, and then only the minimum record needed to make sure we do not email you again.
- Feedback: kept for up to 24 months.
- Analytics: retained by Google for 14 months.
- Internship applications: kept for up to 12 months after the role is filled, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
6. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are sent over encrypted connections to the processors listed above, and access to the inboxes and dashboards holding your data is restricted to the studio and protected by strong authentication.
7. Children
This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us their data, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- ask us to delete your data, in the circumstances the law allows;
- ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to our use of it where we rely on legitimate interests;
- ask us to transfer it to another provider, where it is held by consent or contract and processed automatically; and
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent — this does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
To exercise any of these, email hello@folaadeleke.com. We will respond within one month. There is no charge unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or by calling 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the “last updated” date above. Where a change is significant, we will say so in the newsletter.
